Captains shut out by Loons 7-0, win streak ends at five games

CAPTAINS BEAT WRITER
The Lake County Captains entered Saturday night's game against the Great Lakes Loons with a 7-2 record, winners of five games in a row and a 4-0 record at Classic Park.  All of those positives ended on as the game finished when the Loons shut out the Captains 7-0 in front of a crowd of 1,244.

​The Loons scored early and often against Captains starting pitcher Shao-Ching Chiang.  Chiang lasted only four innings allowing five runs, only two were earned.  The Loons managed four hits off Chiang, while Chiang struck out four suffering the loss and falling to 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA.  Adam Bray earned the win in relief for the Loons.  Bray went two innings allowing three hits and striking out four Captains.  With the win Bray improves to 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA.

The two teams will wrap up the four game series on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.  Righty Dennis Santana will take the mound for the Loons.  Santana is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA.  Lefty Tom Pannone will tow the rubber for the Captains.  Pannone is 0-0, 1.13.
