The Fairport Harding Skippers football team took on the visiting Chalker Wildcats. The Skippers improved their record to 2-0 as they won 41-0. Thanks to a four touchdown 247 all-purpose yard and 137-yard rushing night from Junior Running Back Josiah Cooper.

The Skippers defense would not let the visiting Wildcats do anything on offense all night. On the first drive of the game Skippers Senior defensive lineman Quentin Piotrowski strip sacked Wildcats QB Chayse Harris and then Skippers Freshman DB James Gadomski recovered the fumble. On the first play after the fumble Skippers Junior Dillon Knesebeck rushed for a 35-yard Touchdown to make the score 7-0 with 10:41 left in the 1st Quarter.

Later in the 1st quarter with 37.3 seconds left on the clock Cooper rushed 16 yards for his first touchdown of the night to extend the Skippers lead to 14-0.

The Skippers defense then had a few defensive stops led by Senior Dom Knesebeck (who had 15 tackles on the night) before they could score again. Cooper rushed for an 11-yard touchdown to give the Skippers a three TD advantage at 21-0 with 4:03 left in the 2nd quarter. That would remain the score at halftime.

Fairport received the kick to start the 2nd half and on the first play of the drive just 19 seconds into the 3rd quarter Cooper scored his 3rd touchdown of the night on a 40-yard rush to make the score 28-0.

Then just 3:41 later Cooper would strike again with his 4th TD of the game on a 2-yard touchdown run to make the score 34-0.

Later in the 3rd quarter Freshman Maverrick Piotrowski would score his first high school touchdown running 26-yards on the play and would finish the night with 63 yards on seven carries. Fairport would then take out the starters at the end of the 3rd. Neither team would score in the fourth quarter and the game would end with the score 41-0.

The Skippers will take on the Windham Bombers in Windham, Ohio next Friday September 11th at 7:00 p.m.
