Special Teams hurts Ice Breakers in 3-2 loss to Delaware Thunder

(MENTOR, OH) - The Delaware Thunder defeated the Mentor Icebreakers 3-2 Saturday night. The first Thunder goal came after a scramble in front of Austyn Roudebush, the Icebreaker goaltender at 18:41 of the first. The goal was scored by Evgenii Demin assisted by Kostyukov Egor and Berger Henry. 

The Icebreakers tied things up during the powerplay at 6:26 of the second period. A pass to Alexander Morrow from Henry Berger was shot at the Thunders goalie the rebound landed right on the stick of Jon Buttitta who scored. The lead only lasted four minutes, when the Thunder gained a power play goal of their own. Daniel Dicristofaro shot a puck from the blue line, which beat the Icebreakers goaltender assist to Brandon Contratto and Ryan Marker. The Thunder got another power play goal at 5:32 of the third period. A wraparound goal scored by Ryan Marker assisted by Brandon Contratto and Evgenii Demin. Less than a minute later, there was a scrum in the corner which saw roughing minors go too Steven Fowler and Evan Mackintosh. The Icebreakers then responded with a goal less than 30 seconds later in a 4/4 situation. Vaughn Clouston was along the boards and fed the puck to Parker Moskal in the middle who scored the final goal of the game on the glove side.

The Icebreakers started Austyn Roudebush in the net who stopped 24/27 shots faced. The Thunder stared Taylor Aaron who stopped 51/53 shots faced which, was good for second star of the game. Third star went to Parker Moskal with a goal. Then the first star went to Demin Evgenii with a goal and an assist.
