Blue Devils split with Lakeside Keglers

Tuesday afternoon the Wickliffe boys & girls bowling teams traveled to Lakeshore Lanes to face the Lakeside Dragons. Things went well for the boys as they shut out the
Dragons 9-0. Things did not go as well for the girls as they were shut out by the Lady Dragons 9-0.

The Wickliffe boys got off to a very fast start in game one as they obliterated the Dragons 976-764. Senior Tommy Shirer led the charge for Wickliffe with a 221 game and Sophomore Brayden Morris also had a 213.

Game two for the boys was not as dominating, but close as the Blue Devils took down the Dragons 891-703. Senior Hunter Cunningham led the way for Wickliffe with a 201 and Shirer followed up his first game with a 190.

Wickliffe entered the Baker games up by an even 400 pins. Things did not get better for the Dragons as the Blue Devils swept the Baker games 152-145, 137-119 and 162-129. Sweeping the match by a total of 2,318 to 1,860.  

Shirer had the high series of 411, Senior Ricky Bunn also had a nice 379 (191-188).

On the girl’s side it was all Dragons as they took game 1 801-527. Junior Haley Boylan led the Blue Devils in the loss with a 159. Senior Rebecca Cvelbar also had a 122 for Wickliffe. Senior Nicole Lemponen had a nice 212 for the winning Dragons.

Lemponen also led the way with a 175 for the Dragons in game two as the prevailed by a close margin 627-618. Boylan had the game high with a 178 in the loss for the Blue Devils. Senior Kylee Morris also had a 156 for the Devils.

Lakeside swept the Baker games to take the match 9-0. Lemponen had the high series on the lanes for the ladies with a 387. Boylan led the Devils with a 337.

Both the Boys & Girls Blue Devils will be back in action on Wednesday against Kenston at 4:00 pm at Rollhouse Solon.
