The Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Indians by a final score of 5-2 Saturday evening from Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan.

Triston McKenzie got off to a rough start Saturday evening. He gave up a lead off single to Victor Reyes and then had a strike 'em out, throw 'em out double play to Willi Castro. He then walked Jeimer Candelario before allowing an RBI double to Harold Castro, putting Detroit up 1-0. Cleveland's first hit of the game came in the third inning - a lead off single by Roberto Hernandez followed by another single from Josh Naylor. The Indians looked to have something going before Spencer Turnbell got back-to-back strike outs. There were two on with two outs before Cesar Hernandez hit a line drive back at Turnbell that got deflected to third base, which then loaded the bases. Jose Ramirez was next and he hit a two-run double to right field to give Cleveland a 2-1 lead.

Cleveland held the lead until the eighth inning. At that point, Phil Maton was pitching for Cleveland. The first 2/3 batter he faced reached, Harold Castro walked, and Nick Goodrum singled. Former Indian Eric Haase singled to tie the game at two a piece. Daz Cameron was next and he singled to score Goodrum and put the Tigers back on top 3-2. Miguel Cabrera was next and he walked, which would be the end of Maton's night. Cam Hill came into the game and walked Victor Reyes, the first batter he faced, which allowed a run to score. Willi Castro then hit a sac fly to make it 5-2 Detroit.

Triston McKenzie bounced back from his first rough start in the majors nicely. He went four innings, giving up six hits, one run, three walks, and three strikeouts. To note, McKenzie's fastball velocity was down roughly 3 mph tonight from his last start.

With the loss, the Indians are 28-23 on the year they continue to hold onto the seventh plauoff spot in the American League.

Next up for Cleveland is the season and series finale with the Detroit Tigers from Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. First pitch is slated for 1:10pm. The Indians will send Carlos Carrasco to the hill, who is 2-4 with a 3.27 ERA this year. Carrasco's last start was against the Cubs, where he put in a good performance, going six innings and allowing eight hits on three runs while walking one and striking out five. Detroit will counter with Matthew Boyd, who is having a rough year – he is 2-6 with a 6.75 ERA. He is coming off one of his best starts of the year, however, against the Kansas City Royals, where he went 5 2/3 innings, giving up no runs, two hits, walking four and striking out five
