Returning to Classic Park for a six-game series with the Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds). The home portion of the schedule got off to a good start as the Captains big seventh inning led to a 5-1 win in front of a nice opening night crowd of 4,869.

The game was pitchers duel for the first five innings as Joe Boyle started for the Dragons. Tanner Bibee (By-Bee) took the hill for the Captains. Each starter went for shut out innings before giving way to their respective bullpens. Bibee allowed just two hits and Boyle did not yield a hit.
